      The 2021-2022 Chatham County Democratic Committee officers' election is scheduled for Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 7 p.m. Reference Bylaws Article IV and V for details.
       
      Elections will be conducted virtually, and the virtual meeting information will be distributed on or before December 14.

      Committee offices to be elected are Chair, two Vice-Chairs, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. When possible, at least one of the Vice-Chairs shall be of the opposite gender of the Chair. The person receiving the majority of votes for election to an office shall be declared elected.

      Any declared member of the Democratic Party of Chatham County or any member of the Chatham County Democratic Committee may nominate. However, nominations to an office are limited to members of the Chatham County Democratic Committee.

      The electorate is exclusive to the 64 Chatham County Democratic Committee members, representing the eight County Districts (Article III, Section 3.3), whose term will begin Monday, December 14, with a term ending 2020 or 2024.
       

      Officer Elections Bylaw Summary

      1. The name of this organization shall be the Chatham County Democratic Committee, hereinafter to be referred to as the "Committee." [BL 1.1]
      2. Any person who resides in and is registered to vote in Chatham County, and who shall declare himself to be a member of the Democratic Party, shall be entitled to membership in the Democratic Party of Chatham County. [BL 3.1]
      3. Any member of the Democratic Party of Chatham County is eligible to be elected to the Committee. [BL 3.2]
      4. The Committee shall have 8 districts coinciding with County Commission districts, with 8 members per district. [BL 3.3]
      5. The Committee shall elect from its membership a Chair, two Vice-Chairs, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. When possible, at least one of the Vice-Chairs shall be of the opposite gender of the Chair. [4.2]
      6. Only County Committee members are eligible to vote for officers. [BL 4.3]
