SAVANNAH, GA, December 4, 2020 Representative Al Williams (HD168) was in Savannah today shedding light on the unethical and potentially illegal activities of Senators Loeffler and Purdue in light of the recent reports surrounding the Senators stock trading activities, self dealing, and potential misconduct that continue to draw scrutiny from the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission.
Rep. Williams has been traveling in support of Senate Candidates Jon Ossoff and Rev. Rafael Warnock. While in Savannah, Rep. Williams is encouraging voters to return to the polls on Jan. 5 and reiterating Jon Ossoff's and Rev. Warnock’s commitment to healthcare, clean energy and infrastructure, lower taxes for working families, and criminal justice reform.
“It’s a shame we have to say this, but the standard of conduct for a U.S. Senator needs to be higher than He or She wasn’t criminally prosecuted” - said Chatham County Democratic Committee (CCDC) Chairman Jay Jones. “Georgia voters have the opportunity to decide the future of our nation. With voter registration deadlines occurring December 7 and Early voting starting December 14, the CCDC is encouraging every eligible voter to register & get out and vote in support of Senate Candidates Jon Ossoff & Rev. Rafael Warnock.”
Georgia voters will ultimately determine which party controls the US Senate on January 5 and will have a direct hand in deciding the fate of President-elect Joe Biden’s agenda. The results of these races will potentially have an outsize influence over the next four years.
