A few words from the Democratic Party of Georgia's Voter Protection initiative:
First, our new voter protection page has launched. www.georgiademocrat.org/vote. Check here for all kinds of information and resources about voting, and please share widely. Voter education will be more important than ever this election, and not all information sources were created equal! Misinformation can be as bad disinformation. Please take a look and let us know if you need additional topics covered. To highlight a few pages, check out the page on absentee voting and our new Voter Resource Center.
Second, we need poll watchers!
As I mentioned last night, we need your help recruiting poll watchers. We want them - and need them- in every nook and cranny of this state! I am including two recruitment blurbs at the end of this email, one for email and one for facebook. Please send these around to your networks, or make up our own! DPG provides great training and materials. Here's the link to sign up. Corey is the wonderful DPG staffer who runs this program, and he is copied on this email.
Third, about vote review panels.
Thank you so much for your feedback on vote review panels! Sitting on a vote review panel for your county is incredibly important work, we need to equip you with the tools you need to be a neutral and fair arbitrar of voter intent, while also preventing voters from being disenfranchised. Based on the discussion yesterday, we will be providing vote review panelists with additional training and a one page letter that lays out the laws and requirements of the vote review panel that your designee can take with them. Keep an eye out for communication to you from someone on our team about vote review panels; they will work with you to ensure someone is placed, properly trained, and knows what to do in the case of any funny business. Kim is the wonderful DPG full-time volunteer who runs this program, and she is copied on this email.
Thank you for everything you do. We are here to help if you ever have questions. Just reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org for the fastest response. And don't forget-- poll watching recruitment blurbs can be found at the bottom of this email.
